Introduction to Elementary Particle Physics (ebook)
The book is extremely well-written, topically informative and easy to read – but best of all it is full of physics I enjoyed Bettini’s book three times – not unlike a fine wine: No prior knowledge of elementary particles elmeentary of quantum field theories is assumed.
The author has managed to bring out the importance of experiment in the field, and to explain both the reasoning and the partticle behind these experiments, but does not get bogged down in minutiae. It is very well presented and Goodreads is the world’s largest site for readers with over 50 million reviews.

More specific changes with respect to the first edition concern:. We are left with an excellent introduction to the thinking behind modern quantum field theory.
I like the second edition even better … Best of all, for the current version, infroduction are some timely additions, most notably the discovery of the Higgs boson and an expanded chapter on neutrino oscillations … Let us hope that Run 2 at the LHC will necessitate the writing of a third edition of this wonderful book. With the eyes of a highly skilful and cultured experimentalist, the accurate selection of subjects he presents to us denotes his passion for subnuclear physics, the beauty of which he never fails to point out.
Review Text ‘I liked the first edition very much, and used it for my classes.
